LinkedIn headline change signal outreach
Last updated 15 October 2026
When you run LinkedIn headline change signal outreach, HeyLead finds people who rewrote their profile and contacts them. This page explains what the signal means, how it works, and what to write.
What the headline change signal is
HeyLead is an AI agent for LinkedIn outreach: it finds the right people, writes to them in the voice of your own LinkedIn posts, follows up, and handles replies. It runs from Claude Code, Cursor, any MCP client or a web dashboard.
The headline change signal means a person rewrote their LinkedIn headline. It comes from a person's own activity on LinkedIn. It is attached to one person.
Other signals in the same source include keyword_mention, prospect_post, job_change, company_change, promotion, headline_intent, profile_view, post_engagement, commenter_match, viral_post, post_pain_point, post_tech_evaluation, post_budget_signal, post_seeking_recs, post_negative_experience, reaction_pattern, reaction_insightful_competitor, reshares_competitor, reshares_our_content, competitor_post_commenter, industry_thread_participant, prospect_comments_on_competitor, linkedin_seller, and competitor_mention.
Why the headline change signal matters
HeyLead watches 40+ signal types, scored, matched to your ICP and expiring. The headline change signal has a weight of 0.25 in HeyLead's score. Scores run from -0.30 to 0.90. A negative score lowers priority.
A strong signal starts outreach and the opener says why now. The headline change signal raises priority but does not write the invite note. It expires after 14 days.
How HeyLead detects the signal
HeyLead re-reads the profiles and posts of people in your campaigns. It searches LinkedIn for your keywords.
Before an invitation, HeyLead warms up. It does a profile view, a follow, and a comment on a recent post.
It runs from the cloud with your laptop closed. The client's source is on GitHub under MIT. The hosted backend is not.
What to write or do
Open with what they did. Put this in a sentence about it. Then ask one question they can answer in writing. Include no pitch in the first message.
HeyLead drafts the campaign. You review it and press Launch. Nothing is sent before.
Opening messages, follow-ups and answers to replies wait for your approval until you switch to autopilot. Invitations, not-now check-ins and meeting nudges are not held.
Replies are read, classified and answered from the campaign's facts. Anything ambiguous is held for you. A not now gets a check-in in 30 days.
The brief to type into HeyLead
You type a one-sentence brief in Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or the HeyLead dashboard. One sentence creates a draft campaign. Nothing is sent until you press Launch.
You can choose from six campaign goals. These are sell a product or service, find a job, hire people, find partners or investors, find a vendor, and research interviews. Hire people, find partners or investors and research interviews work with a custom brief.
HeyLead reads your own LinkedIn posts to learn your voice and never posts unless you ask for a post.
Limits and constraints
The headline change signal expires after 14 days. It is attached to one person. It does not write the invite note.
