A follow-up on LinkedIn works when it adds something: a new fact, a shorter question, a reason the timing changed. "Just bumping this" adds nothing. This page gives the shape, three examples and the spacing, then how a HeyLead campaign writes follow-ups, up to 2 per person on Free and 5 on Pro.

## The shape

1. **Wait.** A week after the opener. Sooner reads as pressure.
2. **Add one thing.** A result, a short example, a change on their side you noticed.
3. **Make the question smaller.** If the first ask was a call, the second is a yes or no.
4. **Give a way out.** "If this is not a problem for you, say so and I will stop." People answer that.

## Three examples

### One week later, with a new fact

> Hi Maria, one more thing since I wrote: we added replay for Stripe Connect webhooks, which was the gap the last two teams asked about. Is Connect in your stack?

### Two weeks later, the smaller ask

> Tom, a yes or no is enough: is retry visibility something your team would want to try, or is it handled? Either answer helps me.

### The last one

> Lena, I will stop here. If a payroll provider covering Poland, Portugal and Canada comes up again, my earlier message has the details. Thanks for reading.

## Leave out

- "Just following up" or "bumping this to the top of your inbox". Say what changed instead.
- The same message twice. If they did not answer it once, they will not answer it again.
- A follow-up inside a week.
- More than a handful. HeyLead stops at 2 on Free and 5 on Pro for a reason.

## How a HeyLead campaign writes it

A HeyLead campaign sends up to 2 follow-ups per person on Free and 5 on Pro, each written from the thread so far, the person's profile and the voice of your own LinkedIn posts, and each waits for your approval until you switch the campaign to autopilot. Follow-up messages on a seat are 20 to 35 minutes apart. A "not now" reply gets a check-in in 30 days instead of the next follow-up.

HeyLead sends from your own LinkedIn account at a human pace: at most 20 invitations a day and 100 a week on a free LinkedIn account (more on Premium or Sales Navigator), Monday to Friday 08:00 to 22:00 in your time zone, minutes apart. It backs off when LinkedIn pushes back and resumes on its own. You can pause any campaign at any time. HeyLead is not affiliated with LinkedIn. It reaches LinkedIn through Unipile, which is also not affiliated.

## Questions people ask

### What should a LinkedIn follow-up message say?

One new thing (a result, an example, a change on their side), a smaller question than the first message asked, and a way out. Never "just bumping this".

### How many follow-ups should I send on LinkedIn?

A handful, a week or more apart, each adding something. HeyLead sends up to 2 per person on Free and 5 on Pro, then stops.

### How does HeyLead space follow-ups?

A follow-up is written from the thread so far and waits for your approval until autopilot is on. On a seat, follow-up messages go out 20 to 35 minutes apart, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 22:00 in your time zone.
