# Using the hiring surge signal for a job search

Last updated 23 October 2026

When you look for a job, HeyLead helps you reach the people who hire for the role you want. HeyLead is an AI agent for LinkedIn outreach: it finds the right people, writes to them in the voice of your own LinkedIn posts, follows up, and handles replies. It runs from Claude Code, Cursor, any MCP client or a web dashboard.

## What the hiring surge signal is

A hiring surge means a company is adding headcount fast. They have open seats. They have little time to fill them. HeyLead watches 40+ signal types, scored, matched to your ICP and expiring. A strong signal starts outreach. The opener says why now. This signal shows a clear need. You can reach out at the right time.

## Why it matters for your job search

The campaign goal is to find a job. You want to reach the hiring manager. The fit question HeyLead asks is: Can this audience hire you or refer you? A team that is hiring fast needs help quickly. You can name the role you saw. You can state what you would own in it. This approach shows you understand their needs. It positions you as a fit for the role.

## What to write to the hiring manager

Before an invitation, HeyLead warms up: a profile view, a follow, a comment on a recent post. Then it sends an invitation with a note. It sends an opening message. It sends up to 2 follow-ups on Free and 5 on Pro. It uses InMail and email fallback.

Opening messages, follow-ups and answers to replies wait for your approval until you switch to autopilot. Invitations, not-now check-ins and meeting nudges are not held. Replies are read, classified and answered from the campaign's facts. Anything ambiguous is held for you. A reply of not now gets a check-in in 30 days.

## The brief to type into HeyLead

You type a 1-sentence brief in Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or the HeyLead dashboard. 1 sentence creates a draft campaign. Nothing is sent until you press Launch. It works in Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop and claude.ai, any MCP client and a web dashboard. It works in ChatGPT as a custom MCP app. This is tested on ChatGPT Pro. Custom apps depend on your ChatGPT plan and settings.

It runs from the cloud with your laptop closed. The client's source is on GitHub under MIT. The hosted backend is not.

## Limits and campaign goals

Free costs $0 for 1 connected account with 2 follow-ups. Pro costs $29 a month per connected account. HeyLead reads your own LinkedIn posts to learn your voice. It never posts unless you ask for a post. HubSpot is the CRM it syncs with. Google Calendar is the calendar it books into.

There are 6 campaign goals. You can sell a product or service, find a job, hire people, find partners or investors, find a vendor, research interviews. Hire people, find partners or investors and research interviews work with a custom brief.
