# How to reach founders and CEOs on LinkedIn?

Last updated 25 October 2026

Reaching founders and CEOs on LinkedIn requires a clear strategy. You need to understand their pains and goals. HeyLead helps you execute this outreach.

## What it is and what founders care about

HeyLead is an AI agent for LinkedIn outreach: it finds the right people, writes to them in the voice of your own LinkedIn posts, follows up, and handles replies. It runs from Claude Code, Cursor, any MCP client or a web dashboard.

Founders and CEOs face specific pressures at every stage. During connection and discovery, they care about growth efficiency and cash runway. They manage investor expectations and team scaling. They need to find product-market fit and execute their strategy. They also worry about risk exposure and hiring quality.

You must address what they are measured on. They track runway, growth rate, and burn multiple. They focus on milestone achievement and team productivity. They also care about differentiation, profitability, and market share. You can address these points during the objection and close stages.

- Runway and growth rate
- Burn multiple and milestone achievement
- Team productivity and differentiation
- Profitability and market share

## What HeyLead's own outreach shows

**LinkedIn invitations accepted: Owner or founder and all invitations**

| Seniority | Invited | Accepted | Replied |
| --- | ---: | ---: | ---: |
| Owner or founder | 262 | 24% | 29% |
| All invitations | 1,106 | 25% | 20% |

Source: HeyLead's own outreach, the invitations HeyLead sent from its own team's workspaces, 10 March 2026 to 3 October 2026, each at least 30 days old, read 2 November 2026. Each person is counted once. Accepted means the person accepted the invitation; replied is a share of those who accepted. Seniority is read from the person's job title. Rows with fewer than 30 people are not shown. Nobody is named.

## Why timing matters

HeyLead watches 40+ signal types, scored, matched to your ICP and expiring. A strong signal starts outreach and the opener says why now.

You can spot a fundraising post, a product announcement, or a strategy thread on their profile. Company cues include a funding milestone or a strategic partnership.

Triggers worth writing about include fundraising, a growth milestone, or investor pressure. You can also reach out after a team expansion, a market shift, a strategy refresh, board pressure, or a market change.

## What to do to reach founders and CEOs

You type a one-sentence brief in Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or the HeyLead dashboard; HeyLead drafts the campaign; you review it and press Launch; nothing is sent before.

One sentence creates a draft campaign. Nothing is sent until you press Launch. Before an invitation, HeyLead warms up: a profile view, a follow, a comment on a recent post.

It sends an invitation with a note, an opening message, up to 2 follow-ups on Free and 5 on Pro, InMail and email fallback. Replies are read, classified and answered from the campaign's facts. Anything ambiguous is held for you. A "not now" reply gets a check-in in 30 days.

Opening messages, follow-ups and answers to replies wait for your approval until you switch to autopilot. Invitations, not-now check-ins and meeting nudges are not held.

1. Type your brief to create a draft campaign.
2. Review the draft campaign.
3. Press Launch to start the outreach.

## The brief to type into HeyLead

You can sell a product or service to founders and CEOs. HeyLead looks for roles like economic buyer, champion, influencer, user, or none.

It works in Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop and claude.ai, any MCP client and a web dashboard. It also works in ChatGPT as a custom MCP app. This is tested on ChatGPT Pro. Custom apps depend on your ChatGPT plan and settings.

The client's source is on GitHub under MIT. The hosted backend is not. It runs from the cloud with your laptop closed. It reads your own LinkedIn posts to learn your voice and never posts unless you ask for a post.

```
create_campaign goal='sell' persona='FOUNDER_CEO' roles=['economic_buyer', 'champion', 'influencer', 'user', 'none']
